Welcome to our Home!!

Back To Basics Log Cabin is a company that was started by Randy and Amanda who live in rural Southern Ohio.  Randy is a beekeeper who believes in all natural treatment of honey bees and Amanda (me) is an herbalist who makes an all natural skin care line that utilizes natural ingredients as well as natural preservatives, over chemical ones.

Our company resides in an old style log cabin that Randy built on his own, its character and charm have people driving from miles around to look at it.  Our store hasn’t opened yet, however our Market Stand that started this endeavor is open every day unless the weather is too severe to keep the awning from blowing away!  This stand is a self-serve stand with an honor box and you would be surprised at how many honest people we have in our community!!  Once we open our store, we plan on housing local artisans as well as our honey and skin care line.  From local pottery, hand-made wood toys, soy candles and hand-made aprons are just a few I will mention.

Many of our favorite customers have been hearing that our store “will be open soon”, but this time we mean it!  Haha, construction takes time and money, the children need attention and exercise and the rain has kept us from completing this project on time. Our fingers are crossed for an early June opening.  There is so much to tell you about that I will have to post different topics to cover everything.  From our collaboration with a wonderful Professor from Marietta College that has been working with us on Graphic Design, the SARE grant we were awarded by the Department of Agriculture, or the farmers market we would like to set up in order to make fresh local fruits and veggies available.

Once we get a little more organized I plan to include healthy living tips on herbs, essential oils, whole grains, beauty treatments, unique gift ideas and honey of course!  I do a lot of research on different topics and I plan on sharing the most interesting points with you!

Here is a small sample of our handmade items we make at Back To Basics Log Cabin, its our online store and has been a lot of fun to create!  Enjoy:)

Amanda … (visited with you and the children on Monday, Aug 22)
I truly enjoyed our time at your little cabin. I see big potential for the store, and am so happy to see a business where things are locally grown and made, and not ‘made in China’. We will most definatly be back.. and I have already passed the word.
Good luck, and God Bless you both in this endeaver !!

Very nice meeting you and I look forward to seeing you again. Word of mouth is everything for small town stores, so thank you for your positive relay! Very sincerely, Amanda Hamrick
